Riddikulus

Riddikulus is the charm used against a Boggart. The caster pictures the feared shape turned into something funny, and laughter finishes the job. Neville imagines Snape in his grandmother’s clothes. The charm is no help against a Dementor, which Lupin explains is not truly a Boggart’s fear so much as a despair the Boggart can imitate.
